Bombet on Your Phone: APK, Browser and iPhone
For most Kenyan bettors the phone is the betting shop: the bet slip, the cashier and the mobile money prompt all live on the same handset. This page explains the ways to use Bombet on mobile and the security points that matter when money moves through the same device. We do not distribute any app; downloads, where they exist, come only from the operator's official site.
Browser first: the option that always works
Any modern mobile browser can open a betting site, and the browser version needs nothing installed. It updates itself, leaves no file to verify and works on both Android and iPhone. To make it feel like an app, open the site, then use the browser menu's "Add to Home screen" option: the icon opens the site full-screen like an app. The account, balance and bet history are the same on every device, so a bet placed on your phone shows up on a laptop and the other way round.
Android APK download: when it is safe
Some operators distribute an Android app as an APK file from their own website, because app store rules on real-money gambling differ by country. If Bombet offers an APK download for Android, the only safe source is the operator's official site, reached from an address you have confirmed — not a link in a group chat, a search ad or a "download APK" page run by someone else. Fake betting apps are a common way to steal logins and, worse, to capture mobile money details.
To install an APK file, Android asks you to allow installation from unknown sources for the browser you used. Grant it, install the app, and then switch the permission off again. Before opening the app, look at the permissions it asks for. A betting app needs internet access and possibly notifications; it has no reason to read your SMS messages, your contacts or your call log. If it asks for those, uninstall it.
iPhone and iOS options
Apple allows real-money gambling apps in the App Store only where they meet its rules for a particular country, so an official iOS app for a given brand may not exist in the Kenyan store. If a search on iPhone returns a similarly named app from an unknown developer, treat it with suspicion. The Safari version of the site is a complete way to bet on iPhone: same account, same cashier, same limits. Tap the share icon and choose Add to Home Screen for an app-style icon.
Betting on PC and Windows
There is normally no separate Windows program to install; the site runs in any desktop browser. Installers offered "for Windows" on third-party pages are a known way of spreading malware, so avoid them. A computer has real advantages for a bettor: a larger screen fits the betting rules, the market list and a live score side by side, and keeping a spreadsheet of your bets is much easier with a keyboard.
What a mobile application adds — and what it does not
Where an operator offers an application, the main gains are convenience: fingerprint or face login, an icon that opens straight into the sportsbook, and notifications when a bet settles or a withdrawal changes status. The odds, rules, cashier and limits are the same as on the website. Notifications are worth managing: an alert about a boosted price at midnight is marketing, and you can switch it off in the app or in your phone's settings without missing anything important.
Data, battery and connection
Pre-match betting uses little data — a market list and a bet slip are light pages. Live betting screens refresh constantly, and live video streams use far more. If you bet on a data bundle, keep streams for Wi-Fi and watch your bundle balance; a connection that drops in the middle of placing a bet leaves you unsure whether it went through. When that happens, check your open bets before placing it again, so you do not stake twice on the same selection.
Phone security when money moves on the same device
Because the betting account and the mobile money wallet sit on one phone, a lost or shared phone is a real risk. Use a screen lock, do not save your betting password in a shared browser, and never tell anyone your M-Pesa or Airtel Money PIN — no operator or support agent needs it. If your phone is lost, change the betting password from another device and contact the operator's support. Deposit limits set in your account protect you here too: they cap what anyone can move in through that account.
