How to deposit at Bombet from Kenya

Funding a betting account takes a minute; funding it sensibly takes a little longer. This guide walks through a deposit at Bombet from a Kenyan point of view: which deposit methods to look for, what the law says about the money coming in, why the balance can show slightly less than you sent, and how to set a limit before the first top-up rather than after a bad weekend.

The set of methods and the limits depend on your account — check in the cashier. Nothing on this page states Bombet's minimums, maximums, fees or crediting times; your own cashier shows them.

Deposit steps

  1. Register with your real details and sign in. Use the name that appears on your national ID or passport — you will need it at verification.
  2. Set a deposit limit in the account settings before paying anything in (see below).
  3. Open the cashier's deposit tab and pick a method registered in your own name.
  4. Enter the amount in KES. If a promotion is active and you want it, select it now; most offers cannot be added after the payment.
  5. Approve the payment where your money lives: the PIN prompt on your phone, the one-time code from your card issuer, or your bank's app.
  6. Check that the cashier history shows the deposit and keep the confirmation until it does.

The Gambling Control Act lists the channels a licensee may use to receive a player's money — debit card, electronic funds transfer, mobile money transfer, cash deposit, or another method the Authority approves (s.73(4)) — and rules out credit (s.72(7), s.74). Which of these Bombet actually shows depends on your account.

Minimum deposit versus minimum stake

Two numbers get mixed up all the time. The Act sets the minimum online stake at KES 20 (s.71): that is the smallest bet a licensee may accept online. The minimum deposit is a different figure, chosen by the operator per method and displayed in the cashier. A small first deposit is still a good way to test a route — you see how the payment is approved, how quickly it lands and how the balance is presented — before you trust it with more.

Why the balance can be lower than the payment

Since 1 July 2025 an excise duty of 5% applies to the amount credited to a player's betting or gaming wallet; the operator collects it, and the Finance Act 2026 kept the rate. Depending on the cashier, the duty is taken from the deposit or shown as its own line. On top of that, your mobile money tariff or bank may charge for sending money. After the first deposit, compare the payment confirmation with the cashier history so you understand how the figures relate.

Set a deposit limit first

The Gambling Control (Conduct of Gambling Operations) Regulations 2026 require licensees to offer real-time responsible gambling tools: deposit limits by day, week or month, loss and session limits, reality checks and self-exclusion of at least 24 hours. The deposit limit is the one to set before your first payment, because a phone wallet makes the next top-up a few seconds away. Choose a figure you would be comfortable losing in full, and pick the weekly period if your betting follows the weekend fixtures.

If a deposit has not shown up

Check the source first — wallet balance, card notification or bank statement. If the money left, keep the transaction code and contact the operator's support with the date, amount and method. Do not repeat the payment while the first one is pending. A deposit sent without the reference the cashier gave you, or from an account in another name, is the usual reason for a long delay.

All deposit methods appear in one cashier, and switching between them never needs a second registration. Mobile money and cards can work as an instant deposit — the balance updates once the payment is approved — while a manual bank transfer or a crypto transfer waits for the bank or the network. In every case the figures that bind you are the ones the cashier shows for your account.

After the deposit

With the balance in place, the next guide worth reading is how to withdraw at Bombet: verification, the route back to your wallet or bank, and the two-day rule for crediting wins. The full list of methods is on the payments overview.

Deposit questions

What is the minimum deposit at Bombet?
It is set per method by the operator and shown next to each option in the cashier; we do not quote it. Do not confuse it with the minimum online stake of KES 20 that the Gambling Control Act sets (s.71) — that figure is the smallest bet, not the smallest top-up.
My deposit has not appeared. Should I pay again?
No. First check your wallet, card or bank: if the money left, the deposit is pending somewhere, not lost. Keep the confirmation message or transaction code and give it to the operator's support. Paying twice only means two payments to trace.
Can I deposit using a friend's M-Pesa line or card?
Avoid it. Payments from someone else's wallet, card or account are routinely rejected or frozen, and the first withdrawal will expose the mismatch anyway. Deposit only from methods registered in the same name as your betting account.
Do I have to take a bonus with my deposit?
No. If a promotion is active, read its terms before paying, because many offers must be selected before the deposit and come with wagering conditions. If you only want to bet with your own money, leave the offer unticked.
