Wagering Requirements at Bombet
Wagering requirements decide what a bonus is really worth. Also called rollover or playthrough, the requirement is the total amount you must stake before bonus money — and anything won with it — becomes withdrawable. Two offers with the same headline can differ enormously once the rollover, the game contribution and the time limit are read. This page is bonus wagering explained from first principles, with the sports bettor's questions in mind. The figures below are illustrations, not Bombet's terms; the live requirement for any offer is in that offer's terms on the operator's site.
Compare Bombet OffersHow wagering works
A wagering requirement has three parts: the base, the multiplier and the qualifying play. The base is either the bonus alone or the bonus plus the deposit. The multiplier is how many times the base must be staked. The qualifying play is what counts towards it: which games, which markets, at what minimum odds. Multiply base by multiplier and you have the target turnover.
An illustration: a hypothetical KES 500 bonus with a 10-times rollover on the bonus only gives KES 5,000 of turnover. If the same requirement applied to bonus plus a KES 500 deposit, the target would double to KES 10,000. Every stake counts once, win or lose, and winnings that return to the balance can be staked again. That is why a requirement is about time and exposure, not about losing the full amount — but the longer you play, the more the house edge or bookmaker margin works on your balance.
Game contribution
Not every stake counts in full. Casino offers commonly count slots at 100% and table or live games at a lower rate, because those games have a smaller edge. Some exclude certain slots altogether. A typical contribution table looks like this — illustrative only:
| Play | Contribution often seen | Effect on a KES 5,000 target |
|---|---|---|
| Most slots | 100% | KES 5,000 of spins |
| Table and live games | 10–20% | KES 25,000–50,000 of bets |
| Sports bets on a casino bonus | Often 0% | Does not move the target |
| Sports bets on a sportsbook bonus | 100% above minimum odds | KES 5,000 of qualifying bets |
For a bettor, the minimum odds line is the sportsbook equivalent of contribution. A bonus that only counts bets at odds of, say, 1.50 or higher (an example threshold) excludes short-priced favourites, and accumulators may count as one bet at their combined odds. Check whether system bets, cashed-out bets and bets on both sides of a market count — they usually do not.
Bonus balance and real balance
When a bonus is active, your account holds two pots. Offers differ in which one your stakes use first. If real money is used first, you can stop and withdraw it before the bonus is touched. If bonus money is used first, or the two are mixed, your deposit may be locked until the requirement is met. A sticky bonus is never withdrawable itself; only winnings above it are. Knowing the order tells you what you can still take out if you change your mind.
Time limit and maximum bet
Every requirement has a deadline. Short windows push players to stake faster and higher than they normally would — which is exactly what to resist. Alongside the deadline sits a maximum bet while the bonus is active; going above it, even once, is one of the most common reasons winnings are voided. Some offers also cap the maximum cashout from bonus play.
Is it achievable for you?
Divide the target turnover by your normal stake to see how many bets or spins the offer really asks for. If the answer is far beyond what you play in the time allowed, decline the bonus. Kenyan law sets the minimum online stake at 20 shillings, so small stakes are always possible, but small stakes on a large target take a long time. A bonus should fit your usual play; your play should not be reshaped to fit the bonus. Set a deposit limit before accepting any offer with a rollover.
